Five new players, five goals and the first clean sheet of the season was the result of Henley Town Reserves' visit to Milton United. 14January 2012 HOLYPORT GAME POSTPONED

07 January 2012 TWO WINS OUT OF TWO FOR FIRSTS

Two superb goals from Seve Mayberry and Chris Ovenden gave Henley their second win over a top five Premier side in a week. Binfield's late single goal reply made for a nailbiting finish.

Henley Town Reserves also scored two goals in their away game againsat Reading Town Reserves at Scours Lane but it wasn't enough as Reading pumped six past Henley.

02 January 2012 SENIOR CUP QUARTER FINAL DRAW

Henley were drawn away to Thame United in the draw this evening for the Oxford Senior Cup. The full draw appears in the right-hand sidebar.

02 January 2012 A HOME WIN TO CELEBRATE THE NEW YEAR

Henley started 2012 with their first home win of the season against fourth placed Flackwell Heath. A strong defensive performance kept Henley in the game throughout and while Flackwell attacked strongly on occassions, goalkeeper Tom McNeill gave a magnificent performance to keep a rare clean sheet for the home side.

Two late goals from Saturday's 'bad boy' Chris Ovenden who struck a terrific volley and Dauda Fofanah who finished off a slick move down the left wing, gave Henley all three points.

31 Decemer 2011 HENLEY MOVE OUT OF BOTTOM FOUR

Henley were reduced to ten men in the first three minutes of their Premier Division game against Ascot United. Chris Ovenden's two footed tackle was met with a red card and Ascot went on to take a two goal lead by half time. Henley never gave up and despite a thitd Ascot goal ten minutes from time, Tranel Richardson went straight up the other end and opened Henley's account. Ten minutes later, Chris Dean scored Henley's second with a sublime twenty yard pass into the goal but it was too late and Ascot took all three points with a 3-2 win.

27 Decemer 2011 HENLEY MOVE OUT OF BOTTOM FOUR

For the first time in two months, Henley Town have moved out of the relegation zone with three points earned at Kidlington this afternoon following a 4-2 win.

17 Decemer 2011 NO QUARTER FOR BLETCHINGDON

An early goal from Bletchingdon served as a wake up call to Henley who came back to win 3-1, including a spectacular goal from long-range specialist, Danny Blatchford. The Lilywhites are now joined in the quarter finals by big guns, Oxford United and North Leigh with the draw on January 2nd, 2012.

10 Decemer 2011 OLD BOYS BEAT YOUNG BOYS

Henley Town Reserves' youngsters won through the second round of the Oxfordshire Intermediate Cup scoring five goals against Launston Sports then promptly exited the third round as Kidlington Old Boys put six goals into the Town net.

10 Decemer 2011 BRACKNELL ARE BROKEN

In a feisty game with five bookings and two dismissals (both Bracknell players, one after the final whistle) two goals from David Hoar, one in each half, gave Henley their first league victory since October and a very valuable three points as they beat bottom of the table Bracknell Town, 2-0.

26 Novemer 2011 IS A POINT ENOUGH?

Warren Baxter gave the Lilywhites a goal that helped them share the points with fellow relegation candidates Fairford Town. Both teams in this UHLSport Hellenic League Premier Division clash needed points to pull away from the relegation zone but find themselves still there this evening as they take just one point each.

26 Novemer 2011 PENN SHADE IT

Despite drawing level with a superb solo goal in the second half from substitute George Chaplin, Henley Town Reserves lost their UHLSport Hellenic League Division Two East match 2-1 to mid-table opponents Penn & Tylers Green.

05 Novemer 2011 RESERVES TAKE IT ON THE CHIN

Shifting fortunes throughout the game eventually gave Chinnor Reseves their second victory against Henley Town Reserves at the Invesco Perpetual Triangle this season. Henley first went ahead with a goal from captain, Ollie Hunka before conceeding two goals, both following free kicks. An equalising own goal restored equilibrium before Chinnor took the final opportunity to win by 3-2.

05 November2011 LONG JOURNEY TO SHORTWOOD

A robust performance from Henley Town first team and an encouraging debut from Alex MacDonald (transferred from Thame United) was not enough to bring home the points from their visit to Shortwood over the weekend. Shortwood ran out 2-0 winners.

29 October 2011 DOUBLE TROUBLE FOR HENLEY TEAMS

Henley Town first team lost 2-0 to Oxford City Nomads at the Invesco Perpetual Triangle this afternoon while their reserve colleagues were beaten 5-0 at the ASM Stadium, home of Thame United.

25 October 2011 HENLEY HIT HOLYPORT FOR ALL THREE POINTS

Goals from Tranel Richardson and David Hoar overcame Holyport's first half goal for Henly to snatch all three points in the local derby with last year's promoted Division One champions. It brings to an end a four game run of losses in the UHLSport Hellenic League Premier Division.

22 October 2011 VASE SLIPS OUT OF HENLEY'S HANDS

Henley went out of the FA VASE today beaten by the odd goal for Newport Pagnell Town from the United Counties League, Premier Division.

22 October 2011 EIGHT'S NOT GREAT

Henley Town Reserves suffered their second 8-0 reverse of the season when they travelled to Rayners Lane today. There was plenty of heart, a few chances but no response to unbeaten Lane's continuing progress in Hellenic League Division Two East.

18 October 2011 NO RESPITE FOR FIRSTS

Despite a rare goal from Henley's 'keeper Dave Lyons, the Lilywhites lost their third league game in a row to Wokingham & Emmbrook tonight.

15 October 2011 RESERVES UP AND DOWN SEASON CONTINUES

Unable to find a rhythm to their game in the first half, Henley Town reserves went 2-0 down by half time. A quick second half goal ensured a three goal victory for Finchampstead. Henley fought back valiantly during the second half, creating a lot of chances, but in the end it was in vain.

15 October 2011 FIRSTS THROUGH TO NEXT ROUND OF OFA SENIOR CUP

Goals from Dauda Fofanah, Alex Bruce and Chris Ovenden ensured Henley a place in the next round of the Oxfordshire FA Senior Cup. A defelcted 25 yard free kick was the only reply from Clanfield.

11 October 2011 HEATHENS TAMED BY RESERVES WHO WIN 4-2

Two second half goals and a saved penalty gave Henley Town Reserves their second league victory this season and moved them well away from the foot of the Division Two East table.

Going behind in the first three minutes Henley clawed back the lead with goals by Danny Blatchford and debutante Travis Cray. Flackwell Heath equalised before half time. Danny scored again in the second half and Rikki Tagoe-Gilbert added a fourth goal after his shot took a big deflection to leve the keeper stranded.

08 October 2011 LEAGUE LEADERS WIN AGAINST TEN MEN

For nearly an hour, Henley Town held League leaders Shortwood United to 0-0. Only after newcomer, Daniel Webb was sent off for two yellow cards in five minutes did Shortwood finally break through Henley's defence. A second goal ensured three points to the visitors although Henley put up a spirited final 15 minutes.

24 September 2011 LATE WINNER FOR LILYWHITES IN FA VASE

An 88th minute goal from Chris Ovenden was all that separated Henley and Milton in their 2nd Round Qualifying of the FA Carlsberg Vase. Neither goalkeeper was troubled in a match that had few shots and little else to recommend it.

Henley face Newport Pagnell Town at home in the next round.

17 September 2011 2-1 WIN BY SLIMBRIDGE

A much better performance from Henley was not enough to earn the points at the Invesco Perpetual Triangle this afternoon. Tidier play and more determination saw the Lilywhites dominate for periods of the game but an inability to finish let them down and Slimbridge hit the winner in the 88th minute. Alex Allen put Town ahead in the first half but missed an opportunity for a simple tap in at the back post in the second half. Town's keeper, Sean Coker was Man of the Match pulling off some stunning saves to keep Town in the game.

10 September 2011 WOEFUL RESULTS FOR HENLEY TEAMS

If winning 4-0 in midweek left Henley firsts feeling very pleased with themselves then tonight they must be drowning their sorrows having capitulated to Abingdon Town this afternoon who beat them by the same margin.Strangely enough, Henley remain one point above Abingdon and three places higher in the league.

As if that were not bad enough however, the reserves, at home to Thame United managed to double their sorrows losing by a dismal 8 goals to nil to anchor themselves firmly at the bottom of Division Two East.

06 September 2011 HENLEY WORTHY OF ALL THREE POINTS

A clean sheet, four goals, three points and a move into the top half of the table was Henley Town's reward for a brilliant display on a blustery evening away to Highworth Town. The evening began with a fifty mile journey in the newly acquired team minibus driven by Jamie Butler, and the cameraderie engendered on their trip spilled over onto the pitch where the Lilywhites gave their best performance of the season to overcome fourth placed Highworth. More>>

03 September 2011 MEDIOCRE PERFORMANCE STILL GAINS A POINT

It's going to be a long season in which Henley hope to consolidate their newfound Premier status but if today's game is anything to go by they will have to fight for every point. Fight is perhaps, the wrong term, given that Reading Town's Austin Best and Henley's Paolo Cicero were banished from the field of play for squaring up to each other.

A second half penalty goal scored by captain Chris Dean cancelled out ex-Henley player Jamie Piercy's first half goal for Reading and the two teams played out a rather miserable display to share the points.
